BREAKING: FIFA Bans Platini, Blatter For Eight Years

FIFA’s  adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee has banned its president Sepp Blatter and President of UEFA Michel Platini for eight years each.

Both were banned after the committee decided that a $1.94 million payment to Platini by Blatter in 1999 was against the ethics code regarding financial dealings.
The committee was chaired by Hans Joachim Eckert.

The two have been banned from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) on a national and international level. The bans come into force immediately.
The committee decided that Platini’s  assertion of an oral agreement of the payment was determined as not convincing and was rejected by the chamber.
