All Set For Kogi Governorship Elections (PHOTOS)

As Nigerians look forward to the first election under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari today, November 21 in Kogi state, North Central Nigeria, many are hoping the elections will be free and fair.
Preparations are in top gear for the governorship polls in the state as the electoral contest is a straight fight between incumbent Captain Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former governor of the state, Prince Abubakar Audu.

Naij.com team on ground in the state has noticed the increased presence of security personnel in the state who were deployed from neighbouring states to ensure the electoral process is hitch-free.
Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have also been contracted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to serve as ad-hoc staff for the polls.

Yesterday, Naij.com reporter stationed at the INEC office Lokoja, sighted many members of the NYSC participating in the elections trooping in to the electoral body’s office check the notice board in order to know their areas of posting in various parts of the state.
INEC officials have also been distributing electoral materials to various parts of the state in INEC branded vehicles with heavily armed security personnel escorting the materials and officials of the electoral body to various locations across the state.

Buses packed with NYSC members and security personnel are also leaving the state capital for different areas of the state to conduct elections and indeed forestall any act of violence respectively.
Various security and para military outfits have also been sighted across the state by Naij.com reporters stationed in various parts of the state. They include the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Civil Service Defence Corps, officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission, members of the Nigeria Legion among others.
