Speaking of blue, Beyonce arrived on the scene with her 4-year-old daughter/starlet-in-the-making and made a similar statement like the one made on her recent album Lemonade’svisual aspect by being accompanied by the mothers of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, as well as Annie actress Quvenzhané Wallis and model Winnie Harlow.

2016 MTV Video Music Awards Winners & Performances

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards are going down tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Fifth Harmony, Alicia Keys, Kim Kardashian, and more will present awards throughout the event, with musical entertainment being provided by Rihanna, Britney Spears, Future, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and others.

As we reported last month, Beyoncé leads the pack this year with 11 nominations in total for Video Of The Year, Best Collaboration, and more, while Adele follows closely behind grabbing eight nods of her own. Drake, 2 Chainz, and Chance the Rapper will compete for Best Hip-Hop Video, while Bryson Tiller and Desiigner both have a chance at taking home Best New Artist.

Kanye West has also been given four minutes of unscripted time to do whatever he wants this evening, which may be the most highly anticipated appearance the festivities have to offer. Tonight will surprisingly also mark the first time Future has ever performed at the MTV VMAs.

JAMB 2016 Registration Closing Date - Extended till 31st January

The closing date for the registration of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as announced by JAMB, has been extended till 31st January.

We therefore wish to advise all Myschoolers who are yet to purchase their 2016 UTME forms to do so on or before January 31st, 2016.

This also extends to candidates who are still waiting for supplementary or additional list of their choice schools for the 2015/2016 admission year to be released.

It is always a bad idea to have all your eggs in one basket. There is no 100% guarantee that your name will appear on the list even if the school eventually releases it.

To be on a safe side, get the JAMB form before it expires. That way, even if you miss the 2015/2016 admission, you will still stand a chance in the 2016/2017 session.

Pastor Adeboye Of RCCG Makes 11 Prophesies For 2016

Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has released prophecies for the year 2016.

INTERPOL Vows To Neutralize Boko Haram Threats

The International Police (INTERPOL) has vowed to neutralize the threats posed on the world by Boko Haram, ISIS and other terrorist groups.

 

This decision was reached at a three event which had law enforcement and counter-terrorism officials from around the world in attendance, Leadership reports.

Four key topics were addressed at the meeting, co-hosted by the Spanish national police and the INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Madrid.

The topics were; gathering intelligence on foreign terrorist fighters via social media; identifying and disrupting travel and travel facilitation networks; involvement of returnees in terrorist or other criminal activity; and terror attacks by radicalized individuals who have not travelled to conflict zones.

The meeting was an avenue to exchange information linked to Foreign Terrorist Fighters travelling to and from Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and the Syrian conflict zone.
The participants looked at best ways to address and neutralize threats posed by Boko Haram, ISIS and other terrorist groups.

The meeting will help specialists to develop a global overview of the current terror threat posed by both individuals and networks.

Jorge Fernández Díaz , Spain’s minister of the interior told the participants that international cooperation was essential in facing terrorism.
He stated that they would continue to support the INTERPOL and all those committed to combating threats by terrorists group.

This meeting comes few weeks after the Paris terror attack which left many dead and a string of incidents including in Turkey, Lebanon, Chad, Iraq and Nigeria.

A month ago, the French government declared its readiness join the war against Boko Haram as part of its plan to fight global terrorism, following the attack on Paris by ISIS terrorists.

In November, hundreds of people were killed in several shootings and multiple explosions in at least seven locations in Paris.

Nigerian Sentenced To Hang For Drugs Smuggling In Malaysia

The Malaysian high court has sentenced a Nigerian citizen to death for drugs trafficking.

Ekene Collins Isaac, 37, was found guilty of smuggling 915.6g of methamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy or MDMA, into Malaysia three years ago.

High court judge Datuk Wan Afrah Wan Ibrahim said the prosecution had proven Isaac’s guilt beyond doubt as she passed down the death sentence.

The case against Isaac was formidable.  He was caught with the drugs concealed inside his body at Serdang Hospital in Kajang, Malaysia, after he was detained by local police.

The condemned is believed to have swallowed the drugs in Nigeria, where he worked as a cleaner, before flying out to the south-east Asia country.

During his trial, Isaac was only able to produce one witness to support his case, however the prosecution was able to present 13 witness who all testified to Isaac’s guilt.
He showed no emotion as Judge Ibrahim passed down the sentence.

Under Malaysia’s harsh anti-drug laws, trafficking drugs is an offence punishable with death by hanging.
Isaac’s case is not the first time a Nigerian has been sent to the gallows by a Malaysian court.
On December 17, farmer Echefula Obasi was sentenced to die two years after being found with 2kg of MDMA in a car park in the city of Shah Alam.

Also, in May, a court in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur sentenced 30-year-old student Mary George Unazi to death for smuggling just over 700g
of MDMA in her luggage after flying into the country four years ago.
The condemned have the right to appeal against their verdicts and the governor of the state they were sentenced in has the power to commute the death sentence.

Somalia Bans Christmas, New Year Celebrations

The Somalian government has issued a ban on Christmas celebrations in the Muslim-majority country. 

 The Sheikh Mohamed Khayrow, director general of Somalia’s religious affairs ministry, said the ban was necessary because of fear Christmas celebrations could threaten the country’s faith .

Speaking to reporters on on Tuesday,  the DG said armed security forces have been ordered to disrupt all celebrations hence ‘there should be no activity at all’.

He said: “All events related to Christmas and New Year celebrations are contrary to Islamic culture, which could damage the faith of the Muslim community.”

In a plea to the Christian community, Sheikh Nur Barud Gurhan, of the Supreme Religious Council of Somalia, warned that celebrations could provoke  Al-Shabab “to carry out attacks”

Somalia, which issued a similar ban in 2013, follows the Islamic calendar that does not recognise January 1 as the beginning of the year.
Foreign diplomats, aid workers, and soldiers living in the AU compound are permitted to mark the day privately.

The ban comes just days after the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah banned celebrations with the threat of five years in jail if anyone was found violating the rule.
The leader’s decision is informed by the fear that the religious holiday will affect the faith of his country.

Umeh Blasts DSS, Senators Over Nnamdi kanu

The immediate-past National Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Victor Umeh has blasted the Department of State Services (DSS) over continued detention of Director of Radio Biafra and Leader, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, Vanguard reports.

Umeh, who is also the senatorial candidate of APGA in the forthcoming re-run election in the Anambra Central Senatorial zone, also apportioned blames at the members of the National Assembly representing the South-East geo-political zone for keeping silent.

According to Vanguard, Umeh lambasted the South-east senators for keeping quiet and watch as the issue continue unabated.

He said: “Our National Assembly members should have advised the federal government to release Nnamdi Kanu first and then intervene in the dispute to ensure that frayed nerves are calmed on the issue, instead of keeping silent while the agitation is escalating.” 

However, Olufemi Fani-Kayodehas reacted to the whole drama as he praised Justice Mohammed for being courageous enough to reject the sitting on Nnamdi Kanu’s case.

Anxiety In Yobe Over Whereabouts Of Shi’ite Leader

Following a clash between Shi’ites and the Nigerian army in Zaria, Mallam Bala Afuwa, the Yobe state deputy leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, has confirmed that their leader, Mallam Lawan Mustapha Nasidi, is still missing.

 

Sheik El-Zakzaky fears the army is after the Shi’ites again.

Speaking with journalists, the deputy leader said that Mustapha Nasidi disappeared shortly after the soldiers invaded the residents of the movement’s leader, Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
Mallam Bala added that Muhammed Mahmud Turi and Lawan Nasidi were among those inside the house of their national leader, during the raid by Nigeria soldiers.
He further alleged that during the attack on El-Zakzaky’s house many leaders, close allies and other members of the sect were murdered.

“We believe that during the battle our Yobe Amir, Mustapha Nasidi, was inside the house of El-Zakzaky. We heard that he was killed, so I don’t know the whereabouts of our leader,” he said.

Expressing concern over Muhammdu Buhari’s inaction, Mallam Bala warned the president that the crisis might spell doom for the government as innocent women and children were killed without him taking action.
The deputy leader called on Buhari, Northern governors, inspector general of police and chief of army staff to immediately release Al-Zakzaky and other Amirs without delay.

Stressing that members of the movement are not trouble makers, Mallam Bala noted: “We know our right, Nigerian constitution allows everybody his or her rights to practice his religion without any harassment”.

He further called on members of the sect to intensify prayers until their leader and other Amirs have been released from custody. He added that they would not relent in prayers until their leader is freed.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna state police command has released 83 suspects who were apprehended during the clash between members of the Shi’ites movement and soldiers. There were 34 children and 49 women among the released.

Boko Haram Strikes Again, Kills 7 Civilians

Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect attacked Kamuya village, which is located along the border between Borno and Yobe states, killing 7 civilians.

Speaking with a SaharaReporters, local vigilante Ali Biu revealed that attack took place on Thursday, December 10.
“We received a report early this morning that they [Boko Haram] slaughtered 7 people including 2 women and 5 elderly men at around 10:30 pm last night [Thursday],” he said.

Biu added that the terrorists burned Kamuya village to the ground. He also said that the insurgent group abducted several civilians, including young girls and boys.

Earlier today, supposed members Boko Haram members have killed at least 8 people in a suicide bombing in Cameroon’s Far North region.
The suicide bombing came nine days after another one in Waza, in which three people were killed, excluding the three bombers.

San Bernardino Massacre: First Photo Of Female Shooter Tashfeen Malik Revealed — See Pic

We’re finally getting our first look at the mother turned murderer who helped slay 14 innocent victims at a holiday party in San Bernardino, CA Dec. 2. Tashfeen Malik reportedly put up a pledge to the terrorist group ISIS before she and Syed Farook went on their deadly massacre.

Tashfeen Malik‘s first photo has finally been revealed, and we’re getting to see what the cold-blooded killer looks like. She joined husband Syed Farook, 28, on a killing mission where they used rifles to murder 14 of his San Bernardino County Health Department colleagues, along with injuring another 17. The couple was later killed in a shootout with police.

This is the face of a stone cold killer. Tafsheen Malik helped gun down 14 innocent victims along with her husband at his workplace holiday party. Since the killings it’s been reported that she was radicalized and allegedly posted her allegiance to ISIS under an alias on social media before going on the killing spree. As we previously reported, authorities seized the pair’s cell phones and computers and allegedly found a Facebook account under a different name which belonged to Tashfeen. It was on this account that authorities reportedly found a Facebook post in which she pledged her loyalty to ISIS and its leader, Abu Bakr al-Bagghadi. Scary!

Google Inc., world renowned multinational technology company has predicted the internet market in Nigeria will experience a huge growth in the next two to three years.

6:55 am Collation of results has commenced. Collation officers from 18 LGAs are ready to present with their results. The INEC officials have called the collation officers according to LGAs’ to enter results into the commission’s database. Agents of political parties are now taking attendance.

Naij.com team on ground in the state has noticed the increased presence of security personnel in the state who were deployed from neighbouring states to ensure the electoral process is hitch-free.
Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have also been contracted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to serve as ad-hoc staff for the polls.

Yesterday, Naij.com reporter stationed at the INEC office Lokoja, sighted many members of the NYSC participating in the elections trooping in to the electoral body’s office check the notice board in order to know their areas of posting in various parts of the state.
INEC officials have also been distributing electoral materials to various parts of the state in INEC branded vehicles with heavily armed security personnel escorting the materials and officials of the electoral body to various locations across the state.

Buses packed with NYSC members and security personnel are also leaving the state capital for different areas of the state to conduct elections and indeed forestall any act of violence respectively.
Various security and para military outfits have also been sighted across the state by Naij.com reporters stationed in various parts of the state. They include the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Civil Service Defence Corps, officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission, members of the Nigeria Legion among others.
